Feb. 20, 1970: Texas International Airlines announced six daily roundtrips to Dallas, including three with a 40-passenger Convair 600 jetliner, would begin March 1. The new schedule between Longview and Love Field would “provide a variety of convenient commuter schedules.”

Feb. 20, 1981: Saying the greatest need in Longview was development of a reliable supplemental water source, Longview Industrial Districts Inc. decided to seek water reserves from Lake O’ the Pines. Also at its 25th annual meeting, the district reported the past year saw creation of 21 new plants and 21 expansions.

Feb. 20, 1983: The Gregg County Historical Foundation dedicated the former Citizens National Bank building at Fredonia and Bank streets as the Gregg County Historical Museum. Restoration of the historical structure was to be completed in about six months.

Feb. 20, 1998: A proposed Heritage Plaza got a boost with the announcement that the Meadows Foundation of Texas awarded a $75,000 grant for the project. With the grant pushing funding to about 90% of goal, a groundbreaking was set for April 7 for the downtown park.
