March 25, 1970: The first 500 of the Longview Centennial silver medallions arrived at Centennial headquarters and were “going fast,” said Kurt Borris, chairman of the special novelties committee. The issue was limited to 1,970 and he advised collectors to act fast before the supply was exhausted.
